Whether you register on-line or on site, you can choose which course you prefer to do (the 1K and 5K will have staggered starts, which is why we ask). You and your friends, family, team can walk or run or a combo of the two!

Will there be water stations on the course?

Yes. The 1K course will have one water stop. The 5K course will have three water stops. You are welcome to bring your own water bottles as well. We want to make sure everyone stays well hydrated as it will be very warm.

I am coming in from out of town. Are there recommended hotels close to the campus?

Yes, there are several nearby hotels that are recommended by Nova Southeastern University.

What other amenities are in the area?

There are numerous restaurants, gas stations, and stores, very close to campus, primarily found off of University Drive.

Will Joe Jonas be running?

Yes! He will also participate in the post-run awards ceremony, which everyone can view.

Will Joe Jonas or the Jonas Brothers be performing at the event?

No.

Can I meet Joe Jonas?

The top 25 fundraisers (who must each raise a minimum of $1,000 per person) will get a private meet and greet with Joe Jonas PRIOR to the run, between 7:00 and 8:00am the morning of the run.

How do I get my free, personal fundraising page to compete for the cool incentive prizes?

Easy! When you register at http://www.firstgiving.com/jonasrunfl, you will be given the option to build your own personal fundraising page.

You can customize name your page (e.g., www.firstgiving.com/mysupercooljonasfunrunpage - OK, that’s a little long, but you get the idea), then customize your text, upload a picture and then email your friends, family, co-workers, the link to your URL and ask them to help support your fundraising efforts. Simple as that

What if I’ve registered, but didn’t build a fundraising page and want one now?

No problem. When you registered, you were given a code by FirstGiving (you can also always log into FirstGiving again and retrieve it).

Once you’ve got your code handy, just go to http://www.firstgiving.com/jonasrunfl and select “Create a Fundraising Page” and follow the instructions from there.

Can I collect off-line donations?

Absolutely! We know it’s sometimes easier for your supporters to simply give you cash or write a check.

To have your off-line donations appear on your FirstGiving page total…log in to your page and at the bottom you’ll find a place to enter your current off-line donations total. This will update you progress thermometer automatically.

You must bring all off-line donations with you to the race. If you are in the running for being one of the top 25 fundraisers, you MUST turn in your donations at registration between 6:00 and 7:00am!

This is because we must tally all donations at 7:00am in order to determine the 25 fundraisers and escort them to the pre-race meet and greet.

If you are not in contention for the top 25, but have off-line donations to turn in, you may turn those in anytime between 6:00am and 7:45am.

Are my supporters’ donations tax deductible?

Yes! Special Olympics Florida is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit. Those who donate through FirstGiving will automatically receive an e-mail from Special Olympics Florida with the information needed – you don’t have to do anything!

For off-line donations, you can fill out this receipt for contributions form and give your donors.

You do not need to fill out all the lines on the form.

Only need to fill in Contributor’s Name (the person making the donation), Address, City, State, Zip, and Project (Joe Jonas Fun Run), Amount, Date, check off if the donation was cash or a check, Received By (enter your name), and lastly, check the box that says “No goods or services were received in exchange for this contribution.”

What are the incentive levels?

• Raise a minimum of $70 (above and beyond the $30 reg. fee) – receive a commemorative racing bib, finisher's prize and a Joe Jonas iWin Fun Run t-shirt

• The top 25 fundraisers* will receive everything mentioned above AND a meet and greet with Joe Jonas before the race!

• The top 5 fundraisers* will receive everything mentioned above PLUS they'll get to start the run with Joe AND also have a special award presented to them by Joe Jonas during the Awards Ceremony immediately following the race.

• The top 2 fundraisers* will receive everything mentioned above PLUS two free tickets with premier seating to the Jonas Brother concert on September 7, 2010 at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach.

* Must raise over $1,000 to qualify.

How do the top 25, top 5 and top 2 fundraising competition prizes work?

Remember: the incentive prizes for being one of the top 25, 5, or 2 fundraisers go to the INDIVIDUAL fundraiser, not a team.

To be ELIGIBLE for any of the top 25 fundraising prizes, each person must raise a minimum of $1,000. For example, if 40 people raise at least $1,000 per person, only the top 25 out of those 40 people will get to meet Joe Jonas at the meet and greet.

The person whose name is associated with the fundraising page is who will get the meet and greet opportunity.

Each of the top 25 fundraisers may bring one person with them to the meet and greet (parent/chaperone/friend). Due to time constraints and Joe Jonas' availability, we cannot guarantee that the one additional guest will be able to meet Joe.

There will, however, be a close viewing area where photos can be taken. There will also be an official photographer taking each fundraiser’s picture with Joe, should you not have or bring a camera. The complimentary photos will be sent to the fundraisers after the race.

How will I know if I’m in the top 25?

Special Olympics Florida will notify you via e-mail, prior to the run in you are in contention to be one of the top 25 fundraisers.

The morning of the run, please check in by no later than 7:00am. You will be asked to wait near the registration tents, and we will announce the top 25 fundraisers between 7:00 and 7:30am, provide you with special credentials, and escort the you and your one (1) guest/chaperone to the meet and greet at that time.

What happens after I’m done running?

There will be refreshments for registered runners, music, VIP guests and speakers and once all participants have completed the course, there will be an awards ceremony featuring Joe Jonas.

Can people who didn’t register come as spectators?

Yes, parents/chaperons and guests who do not participate in the run itself are welcome to attend as spectators. Registered participants will, however, be given a priority viewing area for the post-run ceremony.

What time does the event end?

The event end time is subject to many variables, but it is anticipated that all activities will conclude by approximately 10:30am.
