  Global Messenger Training Information - June 2-5, 2011 Thursday, June 2: Duval and Flagler trainers only. Friday, June 3: For all athletes and speech coaches, training begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m., followed by a group dinner. Saturday, June 4: Leave the Fairfield Inn at 8:00 a.m and head to the TV station. We will return to SOFL office by 2:00 p.m. and continue with training until 6:00 p.m. Group dinner will follow, or you can choose to eat on your own. Sunday, June 5: Training and speeches will take place from 8:30 a.m. unitl 2:00 p.m. with a working lunch.   Global MessengersThe Global Messenger Program is designed to teach Special Olympics athletes how to speak in public in front of a variety of audiences. The program pairs Special Olympics athletes with a coach, volunteer, or a family member who serves as the athlete?s speech coach. Coaches learn how to help the athlete prepare a speech to address various types of public groups and corporate audiences on a variety of topics related to Special Olympics. |
